Asa, known as "Dick", was born on April 11th, 1915.  "Dick"'s father was Asa Washington Dye and his mother was Alma K. Smith.  His paternal grandparents were George Alexander Dye and Margaret Louise Wyatt. He had a brother and a sister, named Dale and Mildred. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Donald, Kenneth and Barbara.
