Albert was born about 1919.¹ Albert's father was James Reitz and his mother was Rose Canale. His paternal grandparents are Albert J Reitz JR. and Rose. He was an only child. He died on May 27th, 2006 in Rochester, Monroe, New York.²

  Here is a story my mother relayed to me about Uncle Al and Aunt Ellie.
  It seem that during WWII Uncle Al (Albert Reitz) was station in Hawaii with Johnny Rizzo. Johnny was writing to his girl Josephine and Uncle Al had no one to write to. Johnny said he knew a nice girl who was a friend of Josephine’s, that he might like to write to. So Uncle Al wrote a letter to Aunt Ellie (Eleanor Dana). They wrote back and forth for about two years. Aunt Ellie and Uncle Al got engaged shortly after he came home.

  Uncle Al was very tan and chiseled appearing when we first met him. Handsome and muscular. He was immediately nicknamed "the bronze statue." A name that stayed with him for many years.

Beloved husband of Eleanor (Dana); loving father of Richard (Margaret); grandfather of Kevin Reitz, Denise Boffa, Christopher, Matthew and Meghan; brother of Rose Marie Lobevero; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Al was a WWII Army veteran. Friends may call Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Dierna Funeral Home, 2309 Culver Rd (Near Norton). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 9:30 in St. Andrew's Church. Interment will follow.
