Evelyn Diane D'Anna

Evelyn Diane was born on June 24th, 1908 in CONNECTICUT.¹ Evelyn Diane's father was Biaggio Blace D'Anna and her mother was Giusappina E Cannamela. Her paternal grandfather was Guiseppe Don Petro D'Anna and her paternal grandmother is Giovanna; her maternal grandparents were Giovanni (John) Cannamela and Giacoma Giangrosso. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named JOSEPH, John, SAMUEL, Red, Babe, Mel, George, Rusty, Orchid and Viola. She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 81 on August 19th, 1989 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California, United States of America.²

  My Mom worked as a telephone operator in the late 1920s. The Americans couldn't say D'Anna (they went by last names) so they called her Diana. That quickly became Diane and she kept it, she never really liked Evelina until she was old. She got the record "Diane" to play and when she turned it over the song "Charmaine" was on the other side. She liked it so much she kept it in mind for a daughter's name. I never cared for this name that much myself, but thats how I got it.
