Basil  was born on June 17th, 1924 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California, USA.1   Basil 's father was John D'Anna and his mother was Frances Beatrice Herrera.  His paternal grandparents were Biaggio Blace D'Anna and Giusappina E Cannamela; his maternal grandparents were Lorenzo Herrera and Beatrice Lopez. He had a sister named Georgette.  He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named John  and Jagueline .  He died at the age of 76 on August 11th, 2000 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California, United States of America.2
