Franz was born in April 1803 in Gr. Lensk, East Prussia, now Wielki Leck, Poland.1  Franz's father was Michael Przytula and his mother was Marianna Bartkowska.  His maternal grandparents were Martin Bartkowska and Marianna Sugayska . He had two brothers and a sister, named Adam, Anthony and Anna.  He was the oldest of the four children.
