Jean Matty was born on December 2nd, 1805 in Heusden, Eversel.  Jean Matty's father was Bruno Gaethofs and his mother was Marie Therese Persoons.  His paternal grandparents were Petrus (Pierre) Gaethofs and Maria Schaenen (Schraenen). He had a brother and a sister, named Pierre and Angeline.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 5 on February 12th, 1811 in Heusden, Eversel.
