Peter-Jan was born on July 26th, 1856 in Lommel.1   Peter-Jan's father was Hendrik Cox. He had three brothers and a sister, named Lodewijk, Hendrick, Joannes Martinus and Maria Philomena Norbertina.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  Peter-Jan is no longer alive.

‌Peter-Jan and Maria Veronica were married in a civil ceremony on May 9th, 1884 in Lommel.2
