Petrus was born on March 8th, 1690 in Heusden Zolder.1   Petrus' father was Joannes Canners and his mother was Elisabeth Gaethofs.  His maternal grandparents were Antonius Gaethofs and Anna Franssens. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Joannes, Michael, Antonius, Anna, Elisabeth and Catharina.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
