Josephus was born on July 20th, 1840 in Lummen.  Josephus' father was Paulus Jacobus Tierelieren and his mother was Thérèse Vanminsel.  His paternal grandparents were Henricus Tierelieren and Maria Elisabeth Theunis.  He had five brothers and two sisters, named Henricus, Daniel, Alexander, Ferdinandus, Leopold, Clara and Maria Rosalia.  He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.  He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Louis and Carolina.  He died at just 17 days old on August 6th, 1840 in Lummen.
