Eugenius was born on February 14th, 1888 in Lummen.  Eugenius' father is Paul Kumpen and his mother was Maria Colette Morren.  His maternal grandfather is Alexander Morren and his maternal grandmother was Maria Theresia Obrechts.  He had two brothers and five sisters, named Alphoncius, Leonardus, Maria Josephina, Maria Antonetta, Mathildis, Maria Paulina and Maria Melanie.  He was the fifth oldest of the eight children.  Eugenius is no longer alive.
