Bruno was born in 1773 in Lummen and his baptism took place there on May 15th, 1773.1   Bruno's father was Petrus (Pierre) Gaethofs and his mother was Maria Schaenen (Schraenen).  His paternal grandparents were Joannes Gaethofs and Maria Claes.  He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Charles, Paulus, Maria Christina, Maria Catharina, Elisabeth, Anne Elisabeth, Anna Catharina, Anna Maria and Maria-Theresia.  He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 70 on April 8th, 1843 in Zolder, Viversel.
