Augustinus Gerardus Augustus Gaethofs

Augustinus was born on January 12th, 1820 in Lummen.¹ Augustinus' father was Petrus Henricus (Hendrik) Gaethofs and his mother was Catherina Smets. His paternal grandparents were Jean (Joannes) Gaethofs and Catherina Vandebos (Vandenbosch); his maternal grandparents were André Smets and Marie Hélène Aerts. He had three brothers and a sister, named Jean, Ludovicus, Josephus and Antonette. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 83 on April 21st, 1903 in Stokrooie.²
