Carolus was born in 1735 and his baptism took place on February 19th, 1735 in Diest.  Carolus' father was Carolus Colin and his mother was Anna Maria Gaethofs.  His paternal grandparents were Joannes Colin and Magdalena Paels.  He had a brother and two sisters, named Jan Baptist, Maria Margareta and Anna.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 46 in February 1781.  The funeral took place on February 22nd, 1781 in Diest.
