Alise Matile or Alice Matelia was born in 1868. Alise Matile or Alice Matelia's father was Tyre Asbell and her mother was Mary Malinda Webb. Her paternal grandparents were Pierce Asbell and Nelly Still. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John W., William Pierce, Thomas Richard, Elaner Ann, Matilda, Kate and Carol G.. She was the fifth oldest of the eight children.
