John and Janet were married. They had two sons and two daughters, named James, John, Cecilia and Elizabeth.

Male John Prentice
John was born in 1811. He died due to a medical problem, Died suddenly, at the age of 55 on December 7th, 1866 in Dalmellington.1 

Female Janet Reid
Janet was born in 1805.  She died  due to Cardia disease and senile decay at the age of 79 in 1884 in Dalmellington.2

Female Cecilia Prentice
Cecilia was born in 1833.

Male James Prentice
James was born in 1838.

Male John Prentice
John was born in 1840.

Female Elizabeth Prentice
Elizabeth was born in 1842.  She died  due to Valvicular disease of the heart; senile debility 6 mths at the age of 78 on June 15th, 1920 in Cambuskenneth.3
