Henry was born in 1717 in Baconsthorpe, Norfolk, England . Henry's father was John Girdlestone and his mother was Sarah Ford.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Girdlestone (The Elder) and Palgrave Frith; his maternal grandparents were Charles Ford and Unknown. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Richard, Thomas, Joseph, Zurishaddai, Dorothy and Sarah.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 71 on April 12th, 1788 in Kelling, Norfolk, England.  He was buried on April 15th, 1788 in Kelling, Norfolk, England.
