John Elder 
John was born on February 22nd, 1834 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. John's father was John Elder and his mother was Mary Nairne Aitchison. His paternal grandparents were John (or William) and Elizabeth Cleghorn; his maternal grandparents were William Aitchison and Elizabeth Nairne. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Nairne Guthrie, Elizabeth Aitchison, Mary and Margaret. He died at the age of 35 on May 6th, 1869 in Yairam, Cressy, Geelong, Victoria, Australia. He was buried in Rokewood, Victoria, Australia.-
