Hellen Borthwick 
Hellen was born in 1687 in Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland and her baptism took place there on March 25th, 1687. Hellen's father was Sir Archibald Borthwick 16th Lord and her mother was Elizabeth Gillespie. Her paternal grandparents were Sir Patrick Borthwick (15th Lord) and Marion Scott; her maternal grandparents were James Gillespie and Jean McLay. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert, George, John, Elizabeth, Margaret, Philadelphia and Margaret.-
