  I am still working on connecting Peter Queer to his father, whom I believe to be Lawrence Queer b. abt. 1750 in central/eastern Pennsylvania. Lawrence Queer is believed to be the first Queer to move to Somerset County, Pennsylvania and is thought to be the progenitor of the entire Queer family in Western Pennsylvania, many of whom have lived and continue to live in Westmoreland, Fayette and Somerset Counties, specifically, Mt. Pleasant Township (Westmoreland County), Bullskin Township (Fayette County), and Brothersvalley (Somerset County). Lawrence Queer's origins are presently unknown, although his will is written in Germanic script - English but German looking script. We think the Queers were either Dutch or German immigrants but more research is needed to verify this hypothesis.
