This genealogy report is about Geahchan Family Tree in Beirut and Overseas بني جهشان في بيروت و المهجر .It contains 377 individuals and 150 families, and also 21 Pictures from the family tree. Introduction:
The Geahchan Family Tree is created to retrace the past and to describe the present in order that the family history and heritage will not be lost and forgotten. It is a simple and modest reward to keep in mind names of past generations and what they mean to us.
This web-site is structured to draw the relationship between the various family members since the year 1800 through the family tree, and to bring Together descendents of the four family lines who migrated to Beirut from their home-land in south Palestine during the first quarter of the nineteenth century.
The family tree was assembled after a lot of hard work, patience and persistence which have started during the year 1999 and continued until the Tree was completed, and now could be viewed only with the genopro software.
Six generations have passed and the family still exists in Beirut and overseas countries as-far-as: USA, Canada, France, UK, Brazil, and Egypt.
More stories and memories of our ancestors are to be recorded today before it is forgotten and lost, and further research is to be made to link the First comers to Beirut with their fathers and grandfathers in Palestine.
This is an endless work that will continue by us, and may be by future generations.
I would like to address very special thanks to all those who provided information, and in particular: The Greek Orthodox Bishopric Registrar in Beirut, and the administration of the Archives Center of the university of Balamand, who made available to me all the necessary documents and manuscripts, and were patient enough to satisfy my continuous and endless requests.
