Arthur, known as Peter, was born in 1883 in Hillmorton, Rugby.1  Peter's father was James Henry TRANTER and his mother was Ann FAIRBROTHER.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel TRANTER and Amelia NICHOLS. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Albert, Henry, Ellen and Ada.  He was the youngest of the five children.
