Albert was born in 1872 in Foleshill, Coventry.1  Albert's father was James Henry TRANTER and his mother was Ann FAIRBROTHER.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel TRANTER and Amelia NICHOLS. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Henry, Peter, Ellen and Ada.  He was the oldest of the five children.
