Edward 
Edward was born in 1807 in Cowfold and his baptism took place there on December 28th, 1807. Edward's father was Edward Steele and his mother was Lydia. His maternal grandparents were Henry Gander and Elizabeth Harland. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Thomas, Elizabeth, Sophie, Sarah, Lydia and Rebecca. He was the third oldest of the eight children.
