Hugh was born on April 24th, 1876 in Yackandandah, Victoria, Australia. Hugh's father was Robert James Reid and his mother was Hannah Jane Twist. His paternal grandfather was Robert William Reid and his paternal grandmother is Mary More; his maternal grandparents were Jesse Twist and Hannah Rothwell. He had five brothers and a sister, named William, Robert, Richard, Arthur , Fred and Marion. He died at the age of 65 on January 2nd, 1942 in Moreland Rd, Coburg, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was buried on January 3rd, 1942 in Fawkner, Victoria, Australia.-
