John Bolton 
John was born in 1685. John's father was James Bolton and his mother is Margaret. His paternal grandfather was Thomas Bolton. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, William, John and Jeane. He was the youngest of the five children. John is no longer alive.General Notes
Might concievably be a son) John Bolton of "Desert," or desert Parish, Barony of Coleraine, in 1740 (Protestant householders No. 1760) was born about 1685, the son of James Bolton no. 3. Desertoghill is a little north of Kilrea on the west bank of the Bann River, halfway between Lough Beg and Coleraine. The widow Bolton at Artrea (northwest shore of Lough Neagh and near Lough Beg) in 1740 (Protestant householders, no. 1912) may have been his widow. His presence at "Desert" seems to indicate that he held lands at Dullaghy in Desertoghill which were held by Boltons
