Albert was born in 1889.  Albert's father was George James Miles and his mother was Ellen Merrett. He had a brother and five sisters, named Edward, Margaret, Emily, Edith, Mabel and Kate.  He was the youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named George and Lavinia (Win).
