Evan was born on April 21st, 1853.1   Evan's father was Robert Owen  and his mother was Hannah Jones.  His paternal grandparents were Owen Roberts and Catherine Morris; his maternal grandparents were David Jones (Ty Newydd) and Elizabeth Evans. He had a brother and two sisters, named David, Catherine and Margaret.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 19 on February 8th, 1873.1
