Mary was born on December 13th, 1835 in Noneley and her baptism took place on March 3rd, 1936 in Loppington.¹

Mary's father was Thomas Howard and her mother was Mary Humphreys.  Her paternal grandparents were James Howard and Mary Harris; her maternal grandparents were William Humphreys and Sarah Haycocks. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, James, Sarah and Rebecca Jane.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 87 on October 15th, 1923.
