Hannah was born on January 10th, 1769.  Hannah's father was William Hales and her mother was Mary (Hales).  Her paternal grandparents were John Hales and Mary Evans. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, Philip, Robert, Peter, Walter, Mary and Martha.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.
