Jesse was born in 1897.  Jesse's father was Jason Albert Reeves and his mother was Francis (Fannie) Gibbs.  His paternal grandparents were Charles  Armstrong  Reeves and Alcey Ann Ivey (Reeves). He had two brothers and a sister, named Willie, John and Lillie.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Charles, Jason, Lillian, Nettie, Connie, Nellie and Adie.  He died at the age of 57 in 1954.
