William was born on July 15th, 1887 in Gonzales TX.  William's father was William Thomas Ivey and his mother was Sarah Ellen Davis (Ivey).  His paternal grandparents were Reuben Ivey and Elizabeth  Hudson (Ivey). He had four brothers and four sisters, named James, Augustus, Robert, Andrew, Sally, Mary, Milly and Martha.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died in 1887.
