Rachel was born in 1871.  Rachel's father was Henry F Ivey and her mother was Cynthia P Creason.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Ivey and Caroline Bush (Ivey). She had eight brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, John, Leonard, Seaborn, Ell, Charlie, Carvey, Lena, Nola and Jane.  She was the oldest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 87 in 1958.
