Marian was born in 1877.  Marian's father was Jacob Ivey Jr and his mother was Rachel Sarah Cudd (Ivey).  His paternal grandparents were Jacob Ivey and Caroline Bush (Ivey). He had three brothers and two sisters, named Maldy, John, Van, Cynthia and Arney.  He was the oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named Ezra, Elise, Flossie, Jakie, Annie and Abby.
