Lena was born in 1872.  Lena's father was Henry F Ivey and her mother was Cynthia P Creason.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Ivey and Caroline Bush (Ivey). She had eight brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, John, Leonard, Seaborn, Ell, Charlie, Carvey, Rachel, Nola and Jane.  She was the second oldest of the twelve children.
