Jakie was born in April 1920 in Gonzales TX.  Jakie's father was Jacob Ivey Jr and her mother was Minnie Bell Phillips (Ivey).  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Ivey and Caroline Bush (Ivey). She had a brother and four sisters, named Ezra, Elise, Flossie, Annie and Abby.  She was the third youngest of the six children. She had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Marian, Maldy, John, Van, Cynthia and Arney.  She died at the age of 10 in 1930.
