Benjamin was born on April 18th, 1903 in Gonzales TX.  Benjamin's father was George Washington Ivey and his mother was Jennie Victoria Brady (Ivey).  His paternal grandparents were Jason William Ivey and JoAnna Jamima Miller. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Philip, Jason, Ples, Alvie, Alford, Molly Lee and Cynthia.  He was the third youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named John, Neomi, Annie, Molly, Lea and Lou.  He died at the age of 76 on November 10th, 1979 in Little River Bell Co TX.
