Alcey was born on October 14th, 1848 in Carroll Co MS.  Alcey's father was Jason William Ivey and her mother was JoAnna Jamima Miller.  Her paternal grandparents were Reuben Ivey and Elizabeth  Hudson (Ivey). She had four brothers named James, George, Benjamin and John .  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 76 on January 8th, 1925 in Holland, Bell Co TX.
