Patrick was born in 1837 in Leitrim Co. Ireland.  Patrick's father was James Dolan and his mother was Mary (Nellie) Ellen Fox (Dolan).  His maternal grandparents were Michael Fox and Mary McGloin. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Michael, Jim, Thomas, John, Peter, Margaret and Mary.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 62 on May 7th, 1899 in Live Oak Co Texas.
