Louise Castoral Hotaling of Jamesville died Wednesday at Stonehedge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Chittenango.
Born in New York City, she lived in Linden, N.J., before moving to Jamesville in 1950. During World War II, she was a riveter at defense factories and sewed military uniforms at Hilton's Allied Clothing Corp., Linden. She also was associated with Child & Family Services and was a foster mother to 36 children.
Her husband, David H., died in 1983.
Survivors: Three daughters, Joan Archibald of Exeter, N.H., Betty Steinman of Millis, Mass., and Jean Frantz of Chittenango; a son, Charles D. of Port Byron; two sisters, Anna Ball of Linden, N.J., and Antoinette Pryor of Rahway, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Church, Chittenango. Burial, Pompey Hill Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Delaney & Greabell Funeral Home, 241 Kinne St., East Syracuse.
