Thomas was born in 1829 in Killymuck Glebe, Tamlaght O'Crilly Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.1   Thomas' father was Thomas Stewart and his mother was Maria Young.  His paternal grandparents were William Stewart and Ann; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Young and Mary Campbell.  He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, William, John, James, Sarah and Mary.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven known children.  He died at the age of 64 on August 17th, 1893 in Killymuck Glebe, Tamlaght O'Crilly Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.1
