Sarah Jane Stewart

Sarah was born on May 31st, 1862 in Gortin Coolhill, Aghadowey Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland and her baptism took place on June 1st, 1862 in Moneydig Presbyterian Church.¹ Sarah's father was Hugh Stewart and her mother was Jane Hogg. Her paternal grandparents were John Stewart and Sarah Craig; her maternal grandparents were Rankin Hogg and Elizabeth Perry. She had six brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Hugh, Henry, Kennedy, Samuel, Elizabeth, Mary, Isabella and Martha. She was the seventh oldest of the eleven known children.
