Robert was born in 1859 in Lismoyle, Tamlaght O'Crilly Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland.1   Robert's father was James Stewart and his mother was Margaret McAleese.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stewart and Sarah Wilson; his maternal grandparents were Robert McAleese and Mary Stewart.  He had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, Mary and Margaret.  He was the third oldest of the five known children.  He died at the age of 78 in February 1937 in Lismoyle, Tamlaght O'Crilly Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland.  His burial was in 1937 in Boveedy Cemetery.2
