Mary was born in 1839 in Killymuck Glebe, Tamlaght O'Crilly Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.1   Mary's father was Thomas Stewart and her mother was Maria Young.  Her paternal grandparents were William Stewart and Ann; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Young and Mary Campbell.  She had five brothers and a sister, named Joseph, William, John, Thomas, James and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the seven known children.  She died about 1867.
