Margaret was born about 1846 in Lismoyle, Tamlaght O'Crilly Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland.1   Margaret's father was Thomas "Isles of Lismoyle" Stewart and her mother was Mary Anne Gilmore.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert "The Isles" Stewart and Jane McIlfatrick; her maternal grandparents were Hugh "Long Huey" Gilmore and <Unknown>.  She had a brother and a sister, named Robert and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the three children.
