Joseph "Joe" Stewart

Joseph was born on October 16th, 1903 in Upperlands, Maghera Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland and his baptism took place on October 10th, 1911 in Maghera Church of Ireland.¹ Joseph's father was James Mayberry Stewart and his mother was Rachel Canning. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Stewart and Jane Carmichael. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William James, Henry, Anne, Martha and Rachel. He was the third oldest of the six children.
