John Stewart

John was born in January 1850 in Gorton Coolhill, Aghadowey Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.¹ John's father was Hugh Stewart and his mother was Jane Hogg. His paternal grandparents were John Stewart and Sarah Craig; his maternal grandparents were Rankin Hogg and Elizabeth Perry. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William, Hugh, Henry, Kennedy, Samuel, Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary, Isabella and Martha. He was the oldest of the eleven known children. He died at the age of 90 on October 3rd, 1940 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. His burial was on October 4th, 1930 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.¹
