William was born on January 7th, 1917 in Culnady, Magher Pa., Co. Londonderry, Ireland.  William's father was Robert "Bob" Scott and his mother was Matilda Shiels.  His paternal grandparents were James Scott and Margaret Johnston.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 66 on March 31st, 1983 in Muckamore, Co. Antrim.
