Samuel McCaughrin

Samuel was born about 1825 in Gorton Coolhill, Aghadowey Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.¹ Samuel's father was Andrew McCaughrin and his mother was Nancy Stewart. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Stewart and Unknown Irwin. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Daniel, James, John, Andrew, Martha and Mary. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died about 1866 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Death Notes
- Robert Lusk McCaughrin was administrator of his estate which appears to have taken about nine years(1866-74) to settle. His brother Andrew McCaughrin died in the interim in Glasgow, Scotland. (See McCaughrin files and letters)
