Martha McCaughrin

Martha was born on June 16th, 1831 in Gorton Coolhill, Aghadowey Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland.¹ Martha's father was Thomas McCaughrin and her mother was Letitia Lusk. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew McCaughrin and Nancy Stewart; her maternal grandparents were Robert Lusk and Nancy McAteer. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Andrew, Samuel, Nancy and Susan. She was the second oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 82 on June 21st, 1913 in Bartow, Florida.

- Martha McCaughrin remembers her father Thomas McCaughrin telling about sitting on his grandfather's lap and hearing stories of the terrible Siege of Londonderry in 1689.
