James McCaughrin

James was born about 1815 in Gorton Coolhill, Aghadowey Parish, Co. Londonderry, Ireland. James' father was Andrew McCaughrin and his mother was Nancy Stewart. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Stewart and Unknown Irwin. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Daniel, John, Andrew, Samuel, Martha and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the eight children. He died in Chester Co., South Carolina.
